2016 :

Compensation for Survivors of Acid-Attack : After a regular and rigorous campaign against Acid Attacks run during Nov 25 – Dec 10, 2015, the Government of Uttar Pradesh organised an event and provided compensation to 60 acid attack survivors worth Rs. 18 millions; each survivor got rupees 3 lac and Deepmala (the Acid Attack survivor, we were fighting for) got rupees 5 lac as compensation.

She-toilets on the Ghats of Varanasi : 1. During the 14 days Awareness Campaign of Dec 16-29, 2015, the Varanasi chapter of Red Brigade strongly raised the issue of She-toilets in Varanasi.
Several toilets has been made on the ghats of Varanasi.

2015 :

Installation of CCTV cameras throughout Lucknow : During the 14 days Awareness Campaign of Dec 16-29, 2013 and 2014, Red Brigade had raised several women-related issues and demands including installation of CCTV cameras.
We covered several schools, colleges, markets and rural areas during this campaign and collected signatures in support of our demand and then submitted them to the Govt.
The police department has installed over 4000 CCTV camera in Lucknow city and is planning to install 20000 CCTV cameras in the State.

2014 :

Mahak : Mahak (name changed) is a survivor of gang-rape. Mahak was only 16 years old when she was raped by a gang of four. She did not had a toilet in her house. It was a usual evening when she went out for toilet from where she was abducted and gang-raped. The police filed a weak FIR and tried to dilute the case. She was not allowed to meet anyone. She had been kept away on the name of medical. Also her clothes were not sent for forensic investigation. It was only after the intervention of Red Brigade, the police was pressurised to arrest the culprits (the police took almost one month to catch the culprits) and the case was taken to the court.
During this campaign, a toilet was also made for Mahak in her house through crowd-funding.

2013 :

Diya : Diya (name changed) is a survivor of sexual assault. She was raped by an adult of the village when she was only 14 years old. She had gone out to bring some drinking water where she was abducted and raped by the culprit. Her parents tried to file an FIR but the police refused to do so. The FIR was filed and the guilty was arrested only after Red Brigade intervened in the matter and pressurised the police to file the FIR through a protest. The culprit is now behind the bars under POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012). The Red Brigade also assisted the survivor with legal help.
Our fight also led to the implementation of POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012) in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Self-defense Workshop : Red Brigade’s first residential self-defense Workshop took place in collaboration with Dragon Academy, Lucknow. It was a 10 days workshop in which 40 girls/women of Lucknow and neighbouring towns participated. The self-defense training was provided in the early morning and evening while during the day there were workshops related to gender, awareness regarding women rights and alike issues. This training instilled confidence in the girls and they came out more determined and prepared to fight for women safety.
